I was eating my lunch on Friday when I heard of this scientific study out of the University of Graz in Austria. While I could not find the study there are articles out there. Yes, of course I rushed home to check this out. Here is one. Just so you know I am not making this up. I was laughing really hard and then I was not hungry anymore. The radio host said it was not really more sex that could prolong your lifespan – you had to ingest the chemical. Okay…lunchtime over. Men all over the world ecstatic over new discovery!
It turns out that research shows that spermidine, which is present in high quantities in both grapefruit and sperm, has prolonged the lifespan of worms and fruit flies. The chemical also lengthened the lifespan of human immune cells. I suppose from there you jump to the ability for this new super food to extend your own life. Come on – can’t you see Oprah adding this to her list of Super Foods?
I laughed even harder when I saw Jenna in the Ditch’s post on Friday. Why? Because just in case you believe that this spermidine will extend your life and you are determined to try it and you also hate grapefruit with a burning passion and you are not hot on straight up sperm (sorry guys)….I thought you could use this resource. Jenna posted on a very nasty and totally repulsive disturbing collection of Semen Based Recipes. I kid you not. I dare you to click on it.

Hahaha… I had this great mental picture of Oprah yelling, “SPEERRRRRMM!” the same way she yells, “A NEW CAR!!!” LOL
Hm. Women do live longer than men. Who knows. lol I’m sure the hubby will find the study amusing.

Oh no Shelley you seem in shock. I am sorry! I too was compltetly bowled over and quite nauesous when I heard it. I did eventually laugh though at the ridiculousness of it all….

What I thought was so funny is that I heard the semen thing on the radio – came home – wrote the post one way and then saw Jenna’s post on it and had to add teh cookbook. Nasty Crazy Stuff!
