I am only posting this because I have a need to be like everyone else and show my pregnant belly in its giant state. And because, more importantly, my belly was always getting cold and I finally gave into temptation and made a black Friday purchase that has forever condemned me to dweebdom but will forever keep me, and my belly, warm. Hell, this thing would keep my whole family warm! But first, the belly, dressed in horizontal stripes, because I am a stupid dweeb.
31 Week Belly
Now, a drumroll for the n.a.p. Comfy Blanket. On Black Friday my mom needed a sweater vacuum thing to get the nubbies off and I suggested Brookstone. In the entrance there is a huge pile of n.a.p. puppy dogs that Miles went CRAZY for. He was hugging and licking and just really making it clear that he NEEDED this puppy. Well, you could get one free if you spent $75. With my mom’s nubbie purchase plus a set of n.a.p. socks for my always freezing feet there was still a gap. We needed to buy more! I could just imagine the jealousy from the rest of my frigid body (we keep the heat between 62 and 65) when my belly saw my cozy feet so I succumbed and bought the blanket with sleeves.
n.a.p. Comfy Blanket (Brookstone)
This gal is wearing it backwards, in my opinion. I am, at this moment, wearing it like a giant plush robe. I am like a pregnant Yoda as it is big enough to have a sort of hood if you want. That way my ears stay warm too! The thing drags at least 5 feet past my tootsies and is big enough for my whole family to fit under. I will also be able to breastfeed in it since I wear it all open like this. I may never take this off. When you picture me blogging you may picture me in this. You may laugh – but damn am I COMFY.
As an aside, this chick is in her nap with her hair done in a fully decorated house writing her Christmas cards. She really has her stuff together huh? When you picture me, also imagine that my hair and nails and make up are done and that my house is sparkling clean and all my to-do’s completed. Thank You.

Thanks for the comment! I am trying to make it sound appealing. If everyone gets it and it really takes off maybe it won’t seem weird if I start wearing it out!

Pregnant Yoda! Hysterical!! We have about 4 of those…of course, it never gets cold enough here to use them….unless we turn the AC way down, which I do anyway, because of the hot flashes….it’s a vicious cycle…

I’m forever freezing and should ask for one too, but I just know if I did my kids would take it at any chance they got so they could be Yoda, Obi Wan or whoever they felt like that day. I’d never get to wear it and be warm!!!

I always picture bloggers with their perfect selves and perfect homes and perfect children… as long as you all picture me that way
It does look comfy but I love my quilted flannel blankie.. I mean blanket.

First off, you have a great belly going on there!
And secondly, my family has this blanket and they wear it religously. And, yes, my husband wears it the way you do, but I think he’s a bit bigger than you so his looks like a crazy vest with the longest train you’ve ever seen on a garmet.
Enjoy your week!

How cute is your belly?!? … I always wanted to be one of those cute pregnant women.. I was just HUGE. lol
Those blankets look SO comfy…. So much nicer than the snuggie– that thing is made of felt. Have you ever felt one?… the N.A.P one looks so much more cozy.
Hi Brittany! I love the pic of your belly! It looks great in stripes. Pregnant women should wear stripes.
Your comments on my posts were hilarious!!! Thank you!
I love your belly!!! Have you noticed is it the same with your first pregnancy? So far I’m protruding out rather than just wide in general this time, but that’s just So far.

No! It is huge this pregnancy. With my first it was almost nonexistent until the end. Then with Miles a little more and with this one people are already giving me the any day now look! How far along are you?
No way I think you have lots of room to grow! Plus you’re pretty slim too so I’m sure that doesn’t help. I’m under 5′ so when I get preggers there’s no mistake and I get asked the are you due, twins, triplets? Nice questions like that. Can you believe that April 1st is my due date? It’ll be scheduled C-section though so she’ll be here end of March.

Thanks Heather! Belly feels just full but you know I love a compliment these days!
If I had known about those blankets when I was preggo, I would have worn one too. And I love the idea of using it for nursing.

Really, you went shopping on Black Friday?
Big Yes on stripes for pregnant women. Glad you and baby are enjoying your warm tummy. It does get quite cold in Charlotte. As for our trip to CLT, it would be to tackle some family matters in early spring. AND to spend time with my best friend of 35 years:). If not for her, I might not even consider the trek. As for that serene woman on the couch, I thought that was you… Right before you shower and tidy up and get ready for your day.

Oh please can we have a drink when you are here? I promise your friend will like me
I SO want to meet you!
that serene woman sort of scares me…
We will have a drink when I am there. My sister and mother live in Meyers Park and my friend lives in some nearby suburb equally nice but much newer. We will be staying with her. She is pretty easy and loves to laugh. It will be fun. Who knows, maybe you two will become friends. She is super scrapbooky and card makery and cute in all that she does and has a wonderfully raunchy side as well. And she is an awesome party thrower hostess. Sound familiar. Sounds like you. Only she never tries to save money.

I don’t think people in Myers Park save any money
That’s just they they roll. I married a lovely Jewish man and he just just don’t roll with the spending that way
I am also a Preacher’s kid so we never really had money growing on trees!
Having said that I am less than 2 miles from Myers Park and it is a great neighborhood. I would love to meet your friend too!
Woohoo!
You look adorable and that snuggie thing looks so comfy. Which reminds me that I need to pick one up for my son for Hanukah.

I have heard that the snuggie is felt (someone commented) and this is that super soft plush stuff. It rocks!
You have NO idea how jealous I am. I have been asking my husband for this for Christmas since I first saw it but he refuses to buy it for me becauase he thinks it’s a waste when I can just use a “normal” blanket. Phish! Right? Normal Blanket!?
How dare he.
Showing him this post in the hope that he won’t think I’m on my own

Oh good grief. You are so not a dweeb. You pinpointed it more with the pregnant Yoda thing.

First, you’re belly is adorable. I’m only 23 weeks, and I swear I’m about the same size as you. I feel incredibly whale-ish!
And I nearly succumbed to buying one of those blankets with sleeves last week during the black Friday sales. Now that it’s freezing outside, I’m thinking I should have.

I’m obsessed with pregnant belly photos these days. I love yours and it looks very similar to mine… but I’m only 15 weeks!

I’ve seen those blankets advertised a lot lately and wondered what all the hype was about. Too funny on the pregnant Yoda. Sounds like the blanket thing is working out for you.
Congratulations on your baby coming soon! I hope you’re able to avoid a c-section.
