I did not get everything done that I wanted to get done in 2009. Not even close. And there are a few really important things that I need to wrap up. Since I am pregnant and am not allowed to drink (I did have a little champagne people but I am almost 36 weeks now!) and just generally a little crabby it did not feel very festive yesterday. I was up way past midnight obsessing over Genealogy and Blogging and well, I would rather have been tipsy and french kissing to be honest.
So today I was thinking about how I needed to wrap up some 2009 stuff up and about my resolutions for 2010 and then I realized…New Year’s Day is a Friday. And then there is the whole weekend. I am a real stickler about this one – my weeks start on Monday. My organizational survival revolves around this.
This year – so will my New Year.
I really need these couple of days to think about the past year and about the coming year. I need to finish up and plan for the future. My husband had an endless stream of wonderful people and all the kids that come with them (I love you all) through the house all day for Bloody Mary’s and fabulous wings and football and I just need to start the New Year with a clean house that is not littered with every toy in the house and does not reek of smooshed tomatoes and spices.
So if you would be so kind and give me a little break I will be starting the New Year on Monday and I will have some really great stuff coming up in 2010 for this blog as well as a NEW WEBSITE for breastfeeding moms that I hope to launch this month. I am so excited to share all of this with you…just not today. As usual I am a little behind.
For those of you who did celebrate already, well, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
XOXO
Brittany

Brittany,
I think you have plenty going on and everyone will figure you if you even take a blogging break — sounds like you have a crazy few weeks ahead. I have decided to take this weekend to reflect on the New Year, and then really kick it off strong on Monday. However, I am not very pregnant (actually, not at all:)). So give yourself a break — you’re doing great! -H

Hollee I am laughing so hard because I think I just committed to do NaBloPoMo again this month! I did it in November and then I sucked so badly in December that I think I need the discipline. My real goal is to post 5x per week but without the kick in the arse of this ridiculous pressure from a random website I just don;t do it. Besides, I should have plenty to blog about!
I am so glad a have a partner in my delayed New Year! Have a wonderful weekend. We’ll just get things rolling on Monday…when the kiddos are back in school everything will look more possible!

That’s soo funny that you posted about this, because I’ve been telling myself that the New Year isn’t going to start till Monday for me as well !!
Funny.
And yes, you sure do have a lot of things on your plate right now, and a whole new EXCITING year ahead of you full of all the wonderful changes that it will bring.
I wish you a very happy, healthy new year, and congrats on the new website!! I’m sure it will be as awesome as you

I’m confused. You committed to NaNoBloMo the month you will bear a child? I’m concerned the hormones may be doing something to your mental stability.
We hosted New Year’s too. What a ruckus. Going on strike next year.

I don’t think anyone has been blogging in their usual way this month with the holidays and all.
I look forward to 2010 and what you have to say [not the breastfeeding so much as I am way too old for that, but good luck with it]

you take good rest dear!!
i do not drink alcohol either.
our prayer group met and we sang songs( in praise of Lord Krishna, we are devotees of Lord Krishna), and danced and had kids games till 1 in the night at a friends house !! it was awsome!
Also about breast feeding…my twins were born prematurely and would not latch on to my breast…so i started pumping milk and then the weight gain issue was there so we had to add on to the breast milk…hence i pumped breastmilk for my twins for 11 and a half months.
my husband even gave me a coustemized trophy in appreciation…
i would love to share my experience in your new website, if you would like..

Ooh…great idea! I didn’t get my list in order, either. I also declare the New Year to start on Monday!
While I’m at it, let’s say my birthday is on Tuesday, and Mother’s Day is Wendesday…

Take your time…relax…
This is virtual, you have real life in and next to you – more important at the moment – maybe not so nice and easy every day… I can still remember those days…many years ago!

It is a great idea to think about what we did not accomplish in 2009..it makes it super easy to do resolutions for 2010. You will have an awesome 2010 as you get to welcome a tiny bundle of joy!! Those were by far the best 4 times of life…the birth of my 4 beautiful, perfect babies!

I left you an award at my blog! Check it out if you get the time.

Happy New Year, I hope you are able to get organized and caught up before we get too far into the new year.
I have e-mail I still want to respond to but I should probably just delete it all and hope for the best since it’s already the new year

Ah Louise I will conquer my list! And then the rest will be official to do’s for the New Year and that is fine! Email, as you say, may just be a part of my 2009 past, because I would love to start Monday with an empty Outlook and gmail. Thanks for popping by!
