Better-Than-A-Picnic with Hebrew National

June 6, 2010

I am simply tickled that  TheMotherhood and Hebrew National are coming to Charlotte with their Better-Than-A-Picnic Picnic and they have asked me to be one of the hosts!   What could be better than a Sunday afternoon in Freedom park with free food, entertainment, friends and family and a great cause!  You heard it…we will be feasting on unlimited 100% kosher beef hot dogs while helping a local charity, Birthday Blessings.  You should SO come out to our picnic and help so that homeless kids can have a birthday party.

It’s a Picnic for a Party!

Please come and be a part of this awesome picnic and be sure to find me to say hello!  I am hosting with Maricris of Zen Mommy Ventures, Julie from Mommie Cooks and Rebecca from Letters from Crazyville.

Details of the Charlotte Event:

Date & Time:  June 13 from 11:30 to 3:30

Location: Freedom Park

Who: You can bring kids, family, friends — many other local bloggers and their kids will be there too!

What: Fun, Hebrew National hotdogs, friends, and a fabulous service project for birthday blessings!

Cool Stuff:  Music, giant puzzles, a mechanical bull and other activities for kids and families, too!

The Hebrew National picnics are Better-Than-A-Picnic because they benefit a local charity.  The Charlotte team has chosen Birthday Blessings and we think you will be happy to help us support this amazing organization!  To put it simply, Birthday Blessings  provides birthday presents and parties for homeless children.

We ask that guests bring donations of new unwrapped gifts or gift cards and party supplies. The greatest need is for the teens and tweens who are often forgotten about but Birthday Blessings provides gifts for all ages and even prepares newborn baskets for pregnant mothers.  Gift Cards are always a great gift for older children as they may have needs we cannot anticipate.

Each Better-Than-A-Picnic has a service project.  We will assemble birthday kits and make birthday cards for children to go along with the gifts!  This should be a great craft project for all ages!

About Birthday Blessings:

Birthday Blessings was founded in 2005 by Amy and John Cervantes of Charlotte, North Carolina. Their family service project was born from a desire to raise their children with a love and commitment for giving to others in need. What began as a monthly birthday party at one homeless shelter in 2005, has now grown into a thriving non-profit that operates three programs serving homeless children and families across multiple counties in the greater Charlotte region.

The goal of Birthday Blessings is to bring joy, recognition, and support to needy children and families during difficult and sad times in their lives. Our three core programs raise spirits and boost confidence for homeless children ages tots to teens, and offer help and hope to homeless parents and their babies.

Every year, Birthday Blessings makes a positive impact in the lives of thousands of needy youth and families across our greater Charlotte community. As an all-volunteer organization, our dedicated “staff” of volunteers are truly the heart of all that we do.

Sounds so fun! Too bad Charlotte is a 3+ hour drive. I’m sure the kids would love it.
