It’s Thanksgiving

by on November 25, 2010

It’s the end of the day.  It’s been long and fun and we are all tired.  Yes, I am thankful for family.  My husband’s fam is awesome and I am so grateful to have them in our lives.  I am so thankful that the kids got time with their cousins from Greensboro and from Mexico.  Watching them play is pure joy.  Family is everything and I am blessed.

I digress.  Now, I am exhausted.  So here are some other Thanksgiving thoughts.

I am thankful that the cousins are now old enough to carry the baby.  My arms thank you.  My sanity thanks you.  Little cousins who carried Violet around…THANK YOU!

I am currently thankful that all 3 of my children are asleep.  It may not be for long as they seem to be possessed lately, but still, now, they are asleep.

I am thankful that after all the turkey and sides and wine that there were bagels leftover from breakfast for me to have for dinner.  Sophia was thankful for this too.  Turkey is fine, but we love us some bagels.

I am thankful that my cleaning lady is coming tomorrow and we will come home to a house I can never manage to fully clean.  This will certainly rock.  I am so thankful every time Queila comes.  I know I am lucky and I don’t forget it.

I am thankful that we do not do big holidays with tons of gifts.  I feel no Black Friday urge.  I will not need to risk life and limb for a deal.   For those of you braving the dark and cold…good luck!

Finally, and this is so true, I am thankful that I started blogging.  If you are reading this, thank you.  I have the most wonderful readers and I have found many friends among you.  You helped me through a very scary pregnancy with Violet and have been with me through these past 2 years of joy and pain and laughter and tears as I (and many of you) try to raise good kids.  It’s hard, and thanks to you I know I am not alone.  That’s the key.  We are together.  This blog, and you, are a huge and wonderful part of my life.  Thank you.

And now, for some sleep.  This momma is tired.

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Love You Bunches!

xoxo

Great list of things to be thankful for. We also don’t do the huge commercial Christmas, so we’ll be sleeping while others are battling it out for $5 off.

Sounds like the right way to do things. Hope you had a good rest and your house stays clean long enough for you to enjoy it.
