About Me

August 13, 2008

I am 30 31 32 years old with 2 3 beautiful children Sophia (born 9/06), Miles (born 6/08). and Violet (1/10).  So now you know I am a little bit crazy.

I have lived in Charlotte, North Carolina since I graduated from college in 2000.   God that is almost a decade ago.  I might cry.  I used to have a very adult life and a great job at at a bank that paid me real money, but I left when I found out I was pregnant with Miles to figure out how to be a good better mom, how to make money some other way (Ha!  this has NOT happened.  I have been pregnant or nursing for too long!) and to finish a renovation of my home.   Not surprisingly, all projects are taking much longer than planned.  I now have days when I would give anything to be back with grown ups, but because grown ups are so much less funny than kids and I stinkin’ love to laugh, I think I will stick with my kiddos and work clean up poop and whip my boob out from home.

I started this blog to 1) Have a very real memory keeper for my family since I suck at scrapbooking and 2) give myself a chance at avoiding very expensive therapy.  Please tell me this works, because maybe the money I save on therapy will pay for a boobjob when I finally finish nursing all these babies.  Feel free to give advice.  I am not good at taking it – but this is one of my resolutions so let’s see how it goes, okay?

Here is my disclaimer although I am sure I need some sort of official one somewhere.  If you have kids, you know that your sense of what is or is not appropriate in adult conversation is dulled by the amount of poop and puke that you see or have on your clothes on a daily basis, so excuse me if the level of detail is past your level of comfort.  Have kids.  You will understand.  At this point, poop and boobs and all that baby stuff is just plain funny.  You either laugh or cry!

I am just a mom with a lot to say and no fear of sharing my thoughts with strangers.  Welcome, Internet, to my  world.

Funny, Britt. Your world sounds a lot like mine. Glad to know I’m not the only one who brings up bathroom business during ‘adult’ conversations!

Hey Brittany
So nice to meet you. Thanks for visiting and encouraging my blog. I have only so far read your About Me entry and already sense the beginnings of a mad crush on you.

My genetically linked people are in Charlotte, as is my best friend(since 2nd grade). I graduated UNC-C and am now on the West Coast. If I ever get back there, maybe we will blog in person about boobies and poops. I think of little else.

Thanks Peter. I am launching a blog / website for breastfeeding moms or those considering it or those who have in the New Year called The Boobie Diaries. Maybe your daughter would be interested in submitting something. I would love to write something!

Hi Brittany,

Yes, Regina is spectacular. I don’t meet very many “fainters.” In fact, when I tell people I’ve fainted before, and MORE THAN ONCE, they are intrigued.

Love your blog, especially the layout and your honest approach to fecal matters. Am a bit jealous of the layout. And your castle. I would not have the stamina to finish such a thing.

Brittany,
I love it! I love any lady that talks poop, boobs and vomit and even more so if they can all be in one sentence. Glad you liked my pubic styling post ;) – would love to contribute to the boobie diaries…i’m going to milk these mammaries for all they are worth …

Yup milk em and calculate how much money you have saved. Then tell your husband what you are buying with the dough. I am up to a couple thousand at least from milking 2 children and now with a third coming….man am I going to get something nice at the end of this. Hopefully I won’t have to waste it on new boobs :)

So glad you came by! Did my Google Friend Connect work for you? Sure hope so. It hates me :( .

I’ve been poking around your blog this morning while my two littles fight over my lap. Your blog is very funny, the toddler fight- not so much:) I can so relate to the appropriate conversation! I asked two adults recently if they need to know where the “potty” was.

Susan I now always refer to it as the potty and underpants as panties and oh the list goes on! Thanks so much for popping by!

Brittany – great to visit your site! I’m a part of SITS, too… but I believe you requested I become a fan of your page on FB. Regardless, so great to connect!

If you think you’ve crammed in lots of kids, I had 3 kids in 3 years… and then had my 4th when my oldest had JUST TURNED 5 (!). So, 4 kids in 5 years… and love them so. However, running my blog and an entire other business… plus the kids… I need an outlet to vent!

Can NOT WAIT to learn of your new baby daughter; have you picked out a name? I saw “Frankie” somewhere; is that a consideration for your new girl? If so, I LOVE IT!!

Speak soon, Happy New Year!

Thanks for the email. Love the blog. You put humor into the hardest job on earth, which is I suspect, absolutely necessary. Congratulations on a gorgeous growing family!

Hey Brittany,
I’m a new mom to 4-month-old Sam and started my mommy blog for similar reasons. I definitely wanted to preserve all the memories but I also wanted to share our pregnancy (and now baby) stories with friends and family near and far. I totally hear you on saying it like it is. Sometimes I feel like I’m alienating said friends & family with my constant talk of ALL things mommy and baby– including the nasty stuff–but I guess that’s what happens!
Hope you can check us out when you have a chance!

Best to you,
Laura (aka Mama Riser of The Tale of Baby Riser)

Hi, I’m following from Theta Mom. I can definitely relate to the poop and spit up on my clothes at all times, so I enjoying finding those blogs that show off the good, bad, and everything in between.
